But here's the thing

The sunshine pumpers insisted last recruiting cycle that it was too difficult for Karl to recruit when he couldn't host visitors on campus and inherited a team coming off a 5-7 season. If CU could just win some games then recruiting would be much easier. Well, now Karl CAN have visitors on campus and IS coming off a season with a winning record and yet he's still failing as a recruiter.

As you stated, this was going to be part of the deal when CU hired Karl and this staff. I knew it and others who watched him at UCLA knew it. So, if Rick George, who knows damn well we need to close the talent gap with the teams at the top of the conference decided to hire Karl to lead this program, what does that say about Rick? Why would he hire a guy who can't sell when CU obviously needed a superstar recruiter to be their head coach?

Is Rick George full of sh_t when he says the goal is to compete for and win championships? Because he knows from being on Mac's staff in the late 80's that recruiting blue chips is how you compete for and win championships and the current level of recruiting in Karl's first 2 classes is unacceptable if the goal is indeed to compete for and win championships.
