We must do . . .

For the Nuggets, the starters come playoff time next year are Joker, Murray, MPJ, Gordon and either Barton, Morris or yes, Dozier. Millsap is likely gone, as is JaMychal Green. You need a guy who is satisfied working off Joker. Murray and Gordon fit. MPJ is still so damn young but he fits more than he does not. You like Morris off the bench for the consistency factor . . . and I just don't think Barton will ever be satisfied letting Jamal and Joker run the show by themselves -- he wants to be a star.

So you gotta do something about Barton. And MPJ is getting a max deal.

Well who's out there? The elite names are $25M+ players (Conley, Lowry, DeRozan). Just too much. I like/love Reggie Jackson but why is he going to leave LA to move to Denver?

Not sure there are great options other than letting Murray regain his health, letting Dozier mature with MPJ and Nnaji. Campazzo is sticking.

As for our Avs, Landeskog, Saad, Makar and Grubauer are all due contracts. While it pains me to say it, only Makar is a no brainer. Grubauer is probably the next most important guy an then come Saad and Landy. I love Landy. I cannot imagine that guy wearing another sweater. If they let him leave for greater dollars -- or he chooses to leave for higher dollars -- this team changes. There are a number of up and comers, but none are ready to be a close to Landy. As for the rest of the line-up, you have to decide if Kadri is worth the future headaches he brings, and you have to assume EJ and Byram come back healthy and ready to roll. Hard to know how this team performs if it's EJ handling the puck in our own zone instead of Nemeth (which is apparently a foreign word for "I'm just going to wing the puck in some direction so I don't get hit).

Ultimately, both teams are at an elite level. A healthy Nuggets team is a top 5 team; a healthy Avs is a top 2 team so what do you do to get over that hump? Well, it takes some luck (ask the Broncos on their way to Super Bowl 50 when Cincy took AB out the week before the Steelers came to town for our playoff opener), some talent, and some grit. Referees play more of a role in the NBA than in the NHL. but the game in the NBA is similar to the regular season; the NHL is dissimilar.

Winning, I rambled on and on here. Ultimately, I'm afraid I don't have much creativity here!!
