It's a win-win in many cases. Mid-major players get to play in P5


conferences and it makes room for a younger player to get PT.

Daylen Kountz benefited with major minutes at UNC and it let CU get a late signee, which turned out to be Walker and DaSilva. When Kountz is a senior, he may go back to a P5 school if he continues to improve.

Sometimes it doesn't work out, but sitting on the bench when they are players ahead of you and recruits coming in behind doesn't make sense. Go play somewhere if you're not quite P5 material.
