I saw some discussion on this...mainly it was aimed at households...
Your own home. The cdc said that regular cleaning of surfaces, such as kitchen counters, etc. with soap and water, is enough to kill anything that may have been brought in from the outside, but did not need to be disinfected with anti-bacterial products, etc.
I think it is different with places, especially gym equipment where people sweat and leave dampness behind or even school surfaces like desks, etc. that should be wiped down at the end of the day.
Obviously, the cdc was trying to advise to do more than less at the beginning and now are seeing that the home is most likely not a place to be overly concerned about disinfecting but to clean in a normal manner. I myself only used Palmolive dish soap and water because we never were able to find any anti-bacterial sprays. I also use regular "multi surface" cleaning spray by Lysol but that was also out of stock for about the first 6 months or so in grocery stores.
