Fair question. The answer is in the obvious.


Why is the habitual hothead being given carte blanche on the streets with his record of misbehavior. To your point, I'd also respectfully argue whose responsibility is it that officers follow expectations and standards and not abuse authority and power? Superiors?

Clearly, with George Floyd, in respect to what was necessary for whatever control LE and specifically Chauvin felt he had to have, there was no gray area in what he chose to do.
