What mail in restrictions are you talking about?


Do you mean the provision in Section 25 that requires absentee ballot applications be received 11 days prior to the election in order to make sure the ballot can be sent to the applicant in time for the election? What is restrictive about setting a deadline that is the deadline for everyone and opening up the voting at the same time voting is open to everyone? There's a period of 67 days in which absentee ballots can be requested and returned ahead of Election Day. And if you miss that - you still have 11 days to vote in-person at your precinct. What is suppressive about that? Also why would you assume this would only impact Black and minority voters? Are Black and minority voters less capable of understanding timeframes and meeting deadlines in your opinion?
