Roy Williams Retiring

Never have been a big fan of Roy Williams.

He did learn from one of the best under Dean Smith. Was given blue blood programs to run, 15 yrs at Kansas and 18 yrs at NC. Didn't have to build a program from the ground up

Maybe I don't like him, because he was so successful.

I just remember how much RW complained to the refs in the Big12 even when Kansas got all the calls. I remember when the Buffs were building a program and making progress, RW would shake hands with Riccardo Patton after the game, but grab his shoulder so he couldn't get away and give RP an earful. Always felt RW felt he was entitled.

Back in the 80s and 90s I rooted for NC over Duke. Because, it was easy to not like Duke with Christian Laettner and Bobby Hurley and admired Dean Smith, not to mention Michael Jordan and other big names to come through NC. But later when Roy Williams jumped to NC, I rooted for Duke over NC because of how Coach K stayed loyal and true to Duke.
