Should programs require recruit pass physical before awarding a full ride?
That’s the question. Case in point Jake Wray. Enrolled 01/2020 and now “medically” retired due to back injury? Without playing a down of football. I assume that means CU is still committed to the full ride through his 5th year? If true, where’s the equity in that? Full disclosure: currently have 3 kids attending major universities including one at CU. As you can imagine, cost is astronomical. Not to be misunderstood; I’m not ragging on Wray for taking advantage of the system, assuming he intends to remain and complete his education at CU. To me, it’s just reflective of a f*^% up system. BTW, due to Covid-19 and financial hit CU took, their enrollment standards have blatantly changed. Meaning, in the past if you thought out of state students and related tuition was CU’s bread and butter, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Trust me on that.
