Nuggets are trying to take advantage of a window of opportunity and they need to focus on the next 2-4 years. When the season started they were are already the youngest "good" team in the league with all of their star players 25 years or younger, and with Gordan they have added another youngster. If they keep this core together for the next few years there would not be any minutes (or maybe even a roster spot) for a late first round pick anyway. Once you get into the last half dozen picks of the first round you are as likely to get a career backup or a bust as you are a future starter.

The addition of Gordan has also made Milsap obsolete as the defensive specialist at PF. I think MPJ continues starting at the 3, but also playing some 4 with Gordan getting almost all the other minutes at PF. Not sure where this leaves J. Green in the rotation either
