He has been the Nuggets best defensive player


at least according to some advanced stats. His defensive rating is best on the team for players averaging at least 10 minutes, and also best among nba “rookies.”

his steals per 36 minutes is best on the team and 3rd best in the nba, and his deflections are 2nd best in the nba.

shows that just staying in front of your man and not fouling means more on defense than size. plus he can hit open threes and has great vision.
