I'm not taking sides on this issue because it's very complex
Nobody knows how Sark is doing in his sobriety or how he will do in the future.
However, I will say this: we're not talking about a job at Midas Muffler for $15 hr. This is a job that pays many millions and the economic impact on the university and others is in the tens, maybe even hundreds, of millions of dollars.
I can understand giving people second chances. We've all gotten second chances after doing stupid things. I get it. That said, I'm not sure I could hire Sark given his history and what is at stake for the university and the people working with him. Very tough call. I hope it works out for him...but Texas loses :)
