The substitute free throw shooter has to come from the bench


Battey was the best choice over someone cold off the bench coming in to shoot free throws. I loved that Boyle cut the trainer off from going out onto the floor which would have mandated that Battey come out of the game since CU had no timeouts left.

Per below, yes, in the NCAA the offensive team coach picks the sub to shoot free throws, but they have to come from the bench.
