If recruiting rankings were the only barometer for success, Tucker would grade out better than most. Unfortunately for Midnight Mel, that’s not a barometer at all-except for some folks here apparently. I took KD’s comments to mean character will be taken into consideration, and if a recruit won’t come here unless he can have Whizzer White’s jersey, maybe he’s not the selfless type of player that you want in your program. Note that the only kids opting out of the bowl were Tucker recruits (with the exception of Lytle).

Look at Nebraska- they have had the highest rated class in the B10 West every year but one in the last 10 years. However, they’ve never finished better than middle of the pack in their division. This year they have over 30 kids in the portal, including a fourth of last years recruiting class. Think those kids were properly vetted? There is a disconnect somewhere there...
