The Longhorns were really close to being a CFP team this past season
Three losses, but all of them were coin flips.
-- TCU scores on a 26-yard run with four minutes left, beats Texas 33-31.
-- Oklahoma beats Texas in quadruple overtime.
-- Iowa State rallies from 20-10 down, scores the winning TD with 1:25 left.
I've read there were "locker room issues." Well, Texas was three plays from having a perfect record during the regular season. And I think we saw what kind of athletes they had in our bowl game. Keep in mind Texas was missing several of its best players, including upcoming first-round stud LB Joseph Ossai.
I think we're looking at a sleeping giant. I think Herman was a good coach who didn't get those "coin flips" to bounce his way. I also think Sark is a good coach who could win big and immediately in Austin.
