He has same number of NCAA tourney wins as Tad

Patton was not a great coach, but he was solid at a time when the program had just cycled through 20 years of Blair, Apke, Miller, and Harrington. None of those guys were able to leave CU with a winning record,. Patton was able to have a winning record and two NCAA appearances and 3 or 4 NIT's during his decade as Buffs coach.
It amuses me that folks still rag on Patton, even though he is better than the coaches that preceded him aswell as the gawd awful Bzdelic that followed him. In my opinion, that is because he was a black man that was vocal in his criticism of the CU AD and CU fans for not supporting the program and that rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way.
