No one in this thread or in the article are admiring any one. They’re focused exclusively on the shakiness of our democracy, and rightfully so. America talks a big game when it comes to democratic principles, but we right now all of that rings hollow. That will have consequences for years to come, both domestically and internationally. Pointing fingers at other people doesn’t change that. If anything, it just enables it more. The fact that we have a more sound democracy than Iran is hardly an accomplishment. We used to hold ourselves to a higher standard. Not any more.
