I will try to answer it.

Boyle does need to get to the NCAA tourney more often.

However, he would have made the tourney last year, so to suggest it doesn't count would be the equivalent to holding it against Cristobal at Oregon this year in football because he didn't have 10 wins this season.

Furthermore, CU has the 75th highest BBall budget in the NCAA. Unless CU is going to commit to a higher budget (and I guarantee they won't) its going to be really hard to replace him. Hot coaches at mid-majors are going to wait for better jobs. JMO. It appears Boyle just lost his top assistant to Arizona State probably because we couldn't match their offer (most likely a pay raise of less than $250,000). And you think we are going to attract a better coach? Why don't we first try and fund the basketball squad with Boyle rather than blow the thing up and start from scratch?

Likewise, Boyle has 5 years left on his contract. I don't see any situation where Rick George terminates him with more than 2 years on his contract. Rick George is not wasting any money on basketball, particularly with a coach that has the second highest win percentage in school history.

Finally, outside of the year Chauncey was recruited, the last two years have been the best recruiting classes in CU history (maybe the year Boyle recruited Scott was better than last, not sure). It is certainly the two best consecutive recruiting years in school history.

Why would anyone think it was smart to start over with a unproven coach when the school currently has arguably it's best coach in school history at the helm?
