Response to below about entering Big Ten

The Big 10 would be much worse for CU in football. Further travel (OSU PSU, Maryland, Rutgers, Indiana), 3 major programs that don't want anyone at their level (Michigan, OSU, PSU). CU needs a different look altogether.

A 6th Power conference could easily be formed. The problem is, would the other conferences and the NCAA give them P5 to P6 respect? A 6th would make an even number. I think someone will grab Cincinnati, Memphis and Houston real soon, so why not include them into a new conference.

Great Plains Conference:

Colorado,
Utah,
BYU,
Nebraska,
Cincinnati, (definitely ready, basketball and football power right now)
Houston,
Memphis,
Missouri (they want a way out of the SEC)
and steal a couple of Big XII like K-State, Iowa State or Texas Tech.

They could grab the Houston, Memphis and Cincy TV markets and open into recruiting areas like Ohio, Texas, Missouri.

No one would come in and dominate. There are no weak sisters in that list. It could be a very competitive conference. A very good one in hoops too. (Memphis, Houston, Cincy, Mizzou, K State and Colorado).

GPC Title game could rotate between
Denver, Houston, Memphis and Salt Lake City. Could also play in Jerry's World in Arlington.
