It's not straw man at all. The media and extremists on the left are

inferring Biden is the white hat and cavalry. Clear as day. Here to save the country and world from the dragon, a/k/a Saddam, the U.S. dictator. So definitely not a straw man argument.

Watch the news, the "news" entertainers and if you're objective, you'll see it. Many on this board might disagree with me but many will agree.

I do believe, as you think your dad will do, that eventually people/voters will criticize Biden. There will be a honeymoon and the most vocal haters of Trump will be highly reactive for a while but then when they see Biden is not the savior, they will criticize him (and Kamala). Biden is going to be forced to do some things he doesn't want to do to keep the wolves in Democratic clothing and the activists from hanging in effigy.

I will agree and disagree with you on a point of yours. The choice is clear between Biden and Trump, the men, the human beings. The choice, however, is not just between them as people. You know that, I know you do. There are a lot of policies the Democrats and wildest liberals can't stand that conservatives prefer, just as there are many policies and hopes of the left demands as a "right" that conservatives feel are not right.

Everyone has either self interest or what they believe is "fair" and morally "right."

So the vote is not just about Trump and Biden or slay the dictator (the narrative). It's not. So yes, Biden is a better person, for all his own issues, than Trump. Hands down. You can argue (although you will hear a strong debate) that Harris is more emotionally stable and a better human than Mike Pence. Yet the election is about more than personality and emotional reactivity.

I haven't said every point is equally valid. I do believe voices on different points of the socio-political spectrum should be heard and respected, not just the ones we personally prefer. I also believe there is a clear in-group, out-group tribalism going on that is being denied yet is extremely dangerous.

I know people want, figure of speech, want Trump toppled and exiled, Napolean style. I wish I could swap him out with someone with better character instead of turning the keys over to the slippery slope future we're speeding towards.

To conclude, there is no razor thin difference between Biden and Trump. There is a big gap. I'm not arguing it now or have I before. We just need to stop pretending that because Trump is a garbage can of problems that Biden is not above reproach because that's what's happening.

Personally, I don't care who people vote for in November. Vote your conscience. Vote for your values. I respect that even if I disagree with how people see things.
