Springs - Irish
Just got back to Denver from driving back to New England to see my 93 year old Mom. On the way back I was able to cross another Bucket List item, a top ten list. We stopped off in Dyersville Iowa and visited the Field of Dreams. The corn in the outfield was 10 feet tall, there were a couple of fathers and sons playing "a catch", the house was exactly like in the movie, as was the field. I sat in the stands where Kevin Costner heard James Earl Jones give his great speech on baseball. And guess what it cost to enter? 20 dollars, "people will give you $20 just to walk around. Oh Ray people will come Ray, they most certainly will come". There was a man dressed in one of the old uniforms talking about baseball not the movie. Out in left field beyond the corn MLB built a MLB field with lights. They were hoping to have a game there this past spring. I have to tell you this was worth the drive out of the way. As a journalist once said "you have to want to be here, it's not easy to get to."
