True story, I once interviewed Earth, Wind and Fire for a newspaper.

I was the sports editor of my college newspaper. I was good friends with the music editor who was going out of town and she asked me to review the EW&F upcoming concert (spring, 1975). Side note: I had a big crush on her, but when I asked her out, I found out she played for the other team. She preferred a mitt as opposed to a bat if you know what I'm saying.

They were at the arena doing a walk-through rehearsal that I attended with a photographer. It was early morning and after the interview with several of the band members, their road manager asked if I knew where they could play basketball to get some exercise. I just happened to be friends with a Grad Asst basketball coach who had keys to an auxiliary gym.

He came over, opened up the gym. The band and some of their roadies started playing and they invited me and my coaching friend to join in. So, I got to hoop with Earth, Wind and Fire.

Maurice White could really play. Phillip Bailey (Denver East grad) wasn't too bad.
