I was doing some research last night (insomnia) and I found that if his legacy at CU is important, and maybe it's not and that's ok, he has a chance by coming back, if healthy, of becoming the leading rebounder in CU history with a good season. He could also help CU put up another winning season, maybe a special one. He could rise significantly as one of the Buffs all-time leading scorers and also, if he likes his teammates, bond with them more.

He's good enough to make an NBA team I believe yet there's no guarantee he would and then he's in the G League or overseas, which is still paid but maybe disheartening.

I hope he stays or as you mention, he proves himself in front of scouts.
