Great post. Agree on all counts, but a few nuances.

Your analogy with football and where we were with Barnett in 2005 (or so) is on the money. The only thing missing is the scandal, but really we were a team destined for mediocrity. Our question as fans was, is this the best we can hope for? The answer was obviously no, and we're still trying to find relevance.

HOWEVER was it worth the effort, after Hawkins, Embree, MM2 etc.? I say hell YES. We want a winner. Our last tenured coach, Mike McIntyre, was let go after 5 years of mediocrity with one terrific year. That's exactly like Boyle!

I don't think Boyle should be replaced right now, but I do think he needs to be "on notice". Your suggestion about improving the assistants - that would be GREAT. Works for me. I am all for stability and longevity in a program, and I do really think Tad is a fine man who deserves to write his own biography here at CU. But the results have been disappointing. I vote with my check book, and I feel no guilt for not renewing next year if I'm not encouraged. (It's a long drive for me.)

I'm a business guy, private sector, and I believe in managers being leaders and working with their charges. Rick George and Tad Boyle need to have some uncomfortable conversations, as I wrote earlier. CU fans like me want a team that wins games in this time of year, period. Rick needs to tell Tad what he expects. If Tad does not deliver in the agreed time frame, then Tad will be replaced. That is business.

Good to hear from you again! Go Buffs.
