They went from 3 classes to 4. Greeley Central won 3A. Fairview won 4A

Fairview had Billy Thompson and coach Bob Hoffman who went on to coach at Ft Lewis for a long time. East, Manual, AC, George, Boulder were all good in those days. Most of the schools in the south end didn't exist. Arapahoe did play George in '82, I think. Tracy Jordan was the man for George. Arap had a big that went on to Wyoming.

Greeley Central was probably better than Fairview. Boyle was a great passer.
