I'm not so sure about rebounding..

I don't think we matchup well against teams with good size on the front line. Battey seems to struggle mightly against big, strong post players. They render him useless. It's why saturday's game worries me. I think it's a bad matchup for us. Despite Udub's lackluster record, they have 8 guys over 6-8 and 11 guys over 6-6. They'll start 4 players taller than 6-6 and 3 over 6-9. Not sure how our small guards get their shots. Bey and his midrange game will be key. Walton's improvement will be big for this team moving forward. if he can become a contributor on a consistent basis, that would help what I perceive as our matchup problem when we play team like SC or AZ, etc.

Spot on about backup point and passing. I thought they should have considered not redshirting Barthemew. I don't know much about him but this team desperately needs better ball handling, passing it would allow Kin to play off the ball which was nice wrinkle yesterday.

LOve your comparison between Fat and Kin. Don't underestimate Kin's defense though. I know Bey gets a lot of attention for his defense but Kin is a difference maker on the defensive end. It's incredibly hard to beat him off the dribble and he is far superior to any other guard we have in that regard. When he stops the team's other point guard from penetration it sets up our entire defense. Also, he had couple nice blocked shots last night. Mel always says your quarterback has to be your most competitive player. Well on the hardcourt I wonder if that applies to the point guard? Because Kin in our greatest competitor. He doesn't back down from anybody and that resonates.

Schwartz has to trust his shot..both from the field and ft. You can see the difference when he shoots with confidence and when he just hopes it's going to go in. I'd love to see him and Gatling stick the finish on their shots. I hope Gatling's second half spurt from midrange carries over. They desperately need more consistent production from him.

Go Buffs!
