Really nice to see 40 minutes of urgency last night

That was one motivated, fired-up Boyle team was saw last night. It looked to me that CU was so locked in that Utah didn't know how to respond. In fairness they are VERY young, and have a lot of learning to do. Larry looks like he has some talent to work with for the next few years.

Admittedly I'm a "glass half empty" guy when it comes to Boyle's teams that show potential, but it does feel like this team can have a special year. The OSU game might be just the snake-bite we needed to toughen us up, convince our guys that complacency = lost opportunity.

Only two mild (and I do mean mild) concerns after last night:

1. Reliance on the 3 ball is great at home, fun for the fans, but that does not travel well. I was hoping the Utes would force us into a hard-earned half court offense, but they didn't. Wright had the lane to himself all night. This is still an area of development for this Buffs team.

2. I don't know why Tad had his starters in the game so late. With 4 and 5 minutes left, he was putting Gatling and Bey back in the game. We're up by 30 - give minutes to the guys who have been busting it in practice.

Big week ahead in the desert. Go Buffs!
