The clue my friend is in . . .

. . . the ruse that 20 wins means you're really good. Wrong. 20 wins means you beat the crap out of the Ionas in the world and you have taken your team no further to be honest. And his record as it relates to the NCAAs? Well, he has been the victorious coach once. Let me say that again . . . nine full seasons, one NCAA victory. His team's seeds? #11, #10, #8, and #8. Other than the miraculous run in the 2011-12 Pac-12 tourney, which was really the only great thing that has happened in the last ten years of CU basketball, he has done nothing of national significance.

I watched Blair, Apke, Miller, Harrington, Patton and Bzdelik prior to Boyle. I have to give Boyle credit for the number of wins -- but I do not think a 60% winning percentage is anything to write home about. I am sick of the expectation-shaking defeats and I am sick of watching the guy walk up and down the sideline incapable of making an in-game adjustment against inferior opponents.

Let me be the first to say that this year, if they make the NCAAs. They'll be a seven seed or lower, and they will be lucky to win a game. Some will nevertheless want to throw good old Tad another parade for another "really good" season. I'll skip the parade as I'll be watching the second round games. I love the black and gold as much as anyone, but that does not mean I am blind to mediocrity. And I saw it plain as day yesterday afternoon when a simple zone stumped the guy . . . again.
