Au contraire, the 2nd amendment grants no rights itself


“The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” But that right isn’t granted by the government, but rather, according the Constitution, is among other natural rights that are “endowed by the Creator,” and “governments are instituted to secure these rights.” We might not like it, or think it’s too old timey or out dated or whatever now, but that is what the writers of the constitution intended.

And National Guard is not a militia by any means. They are mostly funded and ultimately under control of the federal government. And again, we might think this notion is out dated or irrelevant today, but it was meant to allow citizens to fight against a corrupt government. And we’ve never had a time where our government was more corrupt than it is now.
