Older people think this is a great idea, as it allows the coaches to instill "military discipline", and many fans believe that a football team be run like a military platoon. If the workout starts at 5 A.M., then the fans think that's an excellent idea, "because discipline."

But teenagers have a different circadian rhythm than older people, and as was mentioned above, their body clocks are set differently. They actually have more energy and ability to concentrate as the day wears on. This ability is helpful during night games, but not helpful for workouts scheduled for pre-dawn, "because discipline". MT will have his way, and the athletes of course will conform......but at the cost of some energy and some ability to concentrate. - B4E
