Good point. TE could be good for SM

I think you have to give him vertical reads rather than any kind of progression across the field. Drag a TE underneath a mid or deep route, and then encourage him to get yards scrambling forward instead of staying in the pocket and bailing out backward, even if he only gets 2-3 yards. Unless a different coach can really help him see across the field better, I don't think he's a pocket guy who benefits from staying in there too long. Two vertical reads, then run. Then mix in some of the stuff Chiv was doing once the LBs and safeties have to play honest. QB draw more often, which fits with a more physical running game. All together that could take some pressure off Laviska, if the safeties and LBs have to account for a TE and a good QB draw instead of just squatting on those short WR routes 5-8 yards off the line of scrimmage.

I also think they should see how he does rolling out a little more. Just put much less emphasis on trying to turn him into a guy who sits in the pocket.
