There are so many interesting dynamics to it

We have high schools in Utah that are very diverse racially but the boys soccer team is almost entirely Hispanic and the football team has almost none. Interestingly, Hispanic girls here are not nearly as active in sports as girls of other races. It seems to be a cultural issue.

Black boys here don’t seem to play soccer. They go for football and basketball. Polynesian boys are all about football and rugby. Poly girls are in to basketball and softball.

The “elite” travel boys soccer teams are mostly white and Hispanic. The girls teams are almost entirely white.

There are a lot of cultural barriers to break down to get more kids in to soccer.
