Governance by crisis and spectacle. The media jumps frantically

from controversy to controversy in its quest for higher and higher ratings. This week, it's Acosta/Epstein, last week was the militarization of Independence Day, week before that was the census question, week before that was visiting KJU in North Korea. And continually, it is the degradation and horrific treatment of people in the border camps. The deliberate cruelty is the point. This is what the GOP is now known for.

All of the crises are designed to wear people out and cause the voters to give up on seeking true facts about what is really happening. Trump has learned well from Putin and other totalitarian rulers.

As a suggestion, take some time out to sit in the backyard, enjoy the sun, maybe plant some flowers to enjoy, or read a book that is non-political ( if it doesn't hurt your eyes). Watch the non-political series on tv - things you've recorded that you've been meaning to watch. Get a lot of rest and relaxation. I feel the same as you -- it's exhausting -- but understanding the media's role of constantly enabling the chaos and corruption helps to get a clearer perspective.
Take care, and this is only a suggestion. I can certainly relate to what you wrote, as so many of us are in the same frame of mind. -- B4E
