Re: Seriously askingwas there a DC parade today?.

This used to be a really fun non-partisan, non-political day ( especially in D.C.), when Americans of all backgrounds joined together to celebrate our heritage and our liberty. We've attended the D.C. event a couple times, including the National Symphony's performance on the west lawn of the Capitol and the fireworks show over the Potomac.

Now, all of that has changed, and it has been hijacked into an election rally, with $2.5 million dollars of money intended to refurbish our National Parks, diverted to this event. The RNC is handing V.I.P. tickets, and the booths are selling maga t-shirts, bumper stickers, hats, and so forth to raise campaign money. I hope the Trump campaign has the honesty to reimburse the Park Service for the $2.5 million of taxpayer dollars, but I doubt it. Honesty and character are not their strong suit.

Basically, a holiday for all Americans has been ruined in D.C. Now it's just another day to scream "lock her up", "CNN sucks", and so forth.

The networks decided not to cover it, so it's not that the earthquake knocked it off the air. - B4E
