A person's motive for supporting a candidate/politician is personal

There are MANY issues that people have to consider when deciding who they want to vote for and support. I've known Bible-thumping Evangelicals who are ultra-conservative on every issue but they voted Democrat because they are union members.

I think many Evangelicals support Trump despite his moral shortcomings because they like his stance on other issues (abortion, guns, etc.). Same could be said for Democrats who found Bill Clintons behavior disgusting but still supported him.

I chose not to support Trump or Hillary in the 2016 election because my beliefs on many major issues don't line up with either of them and I find them both morally bankrupt.
