Both are upgrades

VJ gained a lot of experience and will be better on his second go around. Fangio has decades of experience which is a huge advantage. He's a gruff, no-nonsense guy who is going to have the Broncos D playing much better. While Flacco is an upgrade on Keenum, he's not a top tier QB in a league where top QB play is what matters the most. If Emmanuel and PL get and stay healthy and play like they can, the offense will be serviceable but not spectacular. Also I think Royce Freeman will contribute more this year and Fant/hopefully Jake Butt can be new dimensions. I'm thinking 9-7 type season and maybe a little better if the D really clicks and we win some games with defensive scores, etc. I'd view that as a success and something to build from towards 2020.

I'm all in on MT. This is going to be a much better year and significant change in the trajectory of CU football. 7-8 wins including a W against USC and a bowl game. More depth and talent is needed to become more of a factor, particularly with the North dominating the conference. Realistically, we're a long way behind Oregon, UW, Stanford and even Wazzu at the moment. A few good recruiting classes can help close that gap especially against Stanford and Wazzu.
