Is there any value to the Fibonacci sequence?

It’s pretty, we see examples of it in pine cones. But so what? What is it’s value? I prefer the Lucas sequence - so much better!

I admit - when you factorialize larger Fibonacci numbers, it is surprising how large some of the prime factors are. Much much more than any combination of 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23 etc. - spooky weird.

And then there is the nearly pure linear relationship (on a logarithmic scale) of the 51 known prime numbers within the Fibonacci sequence.

But I still ask - why Fibonacci - why?
