Will Free Agents want to come to Denver and play with Jokic?

Denver has rarely gotten good free agents to come here. But some might want to hook up with Jokic. He makes everyone better. He would make a star into a bigger star.

Here is my take for next season by looking at the Nuggets roster:

Jokic has a massive skill set, but needs to develop his body a little more for the long grind of a season that has long playoff runs. Work on quicker feet. Teams make him come out on pick and roll, then he has a hard time recovering after hedging on screens. Portland was masterful at this.

Murray is still young and is an average NBA athlete, with way above average skills. He must get stronger and not get pushed around. Look at the bodies of the top PGs like Lillard and Westbrook (although Curry is slight in dimensions). Murray needs to hit the weight room and raise his benchmarks.
Trailblazers pushed him around sometimes in the series.

Harris needs to get fully healthy and not defer so much on offense to Murray. He needs to slash more.

Millsap will be gone unless he redoes his deal. He was valuable at times and invisible at times. The Nuggets need to find someone to play the PF spot. This is their biggest need. Vanderbilt will develop.

Torrey Craig. He does what is expected. He is the Nuggets equivalent of Andre Roberson.

Bench:

Malik Beasley made tremendous strides but his minutes were cut for the playoffs and he was not the factor that he was during the regular season. I would suspect he will get better. His shot is very good, but he needs work on creating off the dribble. Biggest difference between him and players like McCollum is Malik does not have the handles the really good SGs have.

Will Barton is not the top tier player he thinks he is. His contract makes him difficult to deal away. He can be very good some nights and a complete shackle at other times. Find some consistency dude! Beasley has more upside right now.

Monte Morris should be confident going into next year. Keep working on the shooting consistency.

Mason Plumlee. Great energy, rebounding and passing. Needs to play better on ball defense.

Juancho H. Not consistent. He should go back to Europe. He would do better there.

Tyler Lydon. If he can't find a way to contribute next year they may have to just let him go.

Jerod Vanderbilt is the type of project that Malone and the Nuggets staff could turn into an effective player. He is a very good rebounder.

Michael Porter could be one of the best players the Nuggets ever had. However, he is a long way from that and they will bring him along slowly. He may have a few games next year where he shows flashes. Of course, he must get healthy and in shape before anything can be expected.

Nuggets have some young prospects they could trade to land an effective experienced player, but Malone likes hanging on to young talent.

After all the movement from FA exchanges this summer it will be interesting to see where the Nuggets stand.
