I don't have stats in front of me but Bird also had some years he was among the very best scorers in the league. Jokic isn't quite that good. Hey, I have loved Jokic's time in Denver. He is a joy to watch, even without much athleticism. As Mike Malone said too, "he's the face of the franchise." I think most experts would pick Bird over Jokic but both are great. I also think, while Bird was no defensive stalwart that I remember, that he was not as weak as a defender. Jokic can rebound but defend, alter or block shots? Not his strengths.

Hoping he keeps leading Denver and the Nuggets grind out a series win vs. Portland. Great series so far.
