Sabonis was a fine passer but never averaged more than 3 assists per game

Of course, the 7-foot-3 Lithuanian got into the NBA well past his prime.

Jokic, on the other hand, averaged 7.3 assists per game this season, which started when he was just 23 years old. And every player but one (LeBron, at No. 4) ahead of Joker in assists per game this season is listed as a point guard.

Jokic tied for 13th in the league in average assists. The next-highest-ranked center was Marc Gasol, down at No. 48 overall at 4.4 per game.
