IMHO the PAC12 is undergoing a slow TQ trend...

TQ = Toughness Quotient

Stanford, Washington and Utah have shown the way to win in the PAC12 is to be tougher than your opponent and play a physical brand of football. Teams tend to copy what is successful.

Cal, Oregon, ASU and Colorado are now following that pattern with their recent coaching hires of Wilcox, Cristobal, Edwards and now Mel Tucker.. Of course it isn't the BIG or SEC by any means yet, but it will pick up. There will be a more physical brand of football in the league next year and beyond.

This shifts the conference into tougher minded coaching staffs at more than half the schools.

USC, UCLA and Arizona are the softer schools now, but still full of talent. Oregon State and Washington State are trying to get tougher in the trenches. OSU just doesn't have the athletes yet. WSU is much better on defense than in the past.

I'm looking forward to some smashmouth football games in Boulder. I think it will be a morph of some exciting offense mixed with tough defense and running the ball by most teams in the PAC12.

CU will definitely get tougher, but will the other PAC12 also?
