A head coach...
needs to strike a little fear in the players. You and I spoke the other day about getting on the players and kicking some butt. You were right, Irish. But I hate to call out players by name for being soft or making dumb mistakes. College players are generally 19-22 or 23 years old and they need leadership to teach them how to play and how to be hard-nosed bad-asses on the field who absolutely hate losing, and will not tolerate those who tolerate losing. Some players can bring that out themselves and some need prodding by a bad-ass coach. The coach needs lots of components in his overall personality. Knowledge of the game and knowledge of human nature.
The Colorado program needs a strong personality who not only knows the game, but knows how to recruit, how to hire a staff and how to teach people they should never tolerate losing.
Get a proven head coach or coordinator with that type of personality and know-how from a P5 program.
